In
the County Pairs, Eve Middleditch and Betty Massey had a
comfortable win against their opponents from Harpenden
by 22 shots to 12,
and progressed to the 3rd round.
The midweek game saw
Borehamwood travel to St.Albans for a Men's Triples on 3
rinks, and secured a rare victory at this venue, 55-43.
Winning rink details were George Gable and Eric Swain
skipped by Roy Edwards, 23-16, and Adrian Pardini and
Bryan Mayson skipped by Sid Butcher, 20-13.
The following day,
Borehamwood had a comprehensive win in the 2nd round of
the Ray Cup, beating Kitcheners by 64 shots to 40. All
three rinks won with Dickie Daniels, Dave Middleditch
and Neville Simons skipped by Don Putman,20-15, Alan
Rose, Ken Sharp and Colin Williams skipped by Arthur
Moseley, 22-17, and Top Rink John Roe, Danny Agras and
Tom Barker skipped by Roy Edwards winning 22-8.
A return to form in
the Watford & District League saw Wood scrape a very
narrow win against a strong Mill End side by 53 shots to
50. Their two winning rinks were John Roe, Dave
Middleditch and Ken Sharp skipped by Dave Winter 17-14,
and Dickie Daniels, Alan Rose and Danny Agras skipped by
Roy Edwards, 17-11.
Unfortunately, their
up and down season in the League continued the following
day when they travelled to Garston and lost by 49 shots
to 57.
