Borehamwood's first major
weekend of Bowls in the new season finished with a narrow
loss followed by a narrow win. On Saturday, they entertained
Metropolitan Police of Bushey, and after a close game on all
4 rinks, went down by 8 shots, 70-78. Their only winning
rink comprised of Neville Simons, Harry Massey and John
Paine skipped by Club President Sid Butcher who won 22-16.
The following day, Borehamwood played in a friendly mixed
triples match on 5 rinks at Radlett and won an exciting
afternoon's bowls by 88 shots to 82. Their winning rinks
were Adrian Pardini and Carol Higgon skipped by Margaret
Moseley 21-13, Dave Mooring and Dai Higgon skipped by Betty
Massey 18-9, and Top Rink Leslie Martin and Brian Mayhew
skipped by Captain for the day Joan Tester who romped home
by 11 shots, 19-8.
