The Club itself then progressed to the next round of the Ray Cup by beating North Watford 69-58 on 3 rinks. Their two winning rinks were Alan Rose, Ken Sharp and Colin Williams skipped by Dave Winter who came out on top 25-18, and John Roe, Danny Agras and Roy Edwards skipped by Arthur Moseley who triumphed 31-22.
To cap off a highly successful week, Borehamwood played the first of their special celebratory matches to mark their Golden Jubilee Year by hosting the Hertfordshire County Bowling Association President's Team on 5 rinks, and against the cream of the County they surprised their visitors by winning the match by 109 - 96. After an excellent dinner following the game, Herfordshire County Captain Don Fox congratulated Borehamwood and said that they would be presented with a plaque to commemorate this win at the Annual Dinner.
