Borehamwood's Men entertained Garston
in the Watford & District League last Wednesday, but went
down on all 3 rinks losing overall by 42 shots to 58. The
friendly rink of John Tester, Barry Coles and Brian Mayhew
skipped by Harry Massey did, however, have a good win by 20
shots to 15.
The following day, Borehamwood crossed
the A1 for a mixed friendly match on 4 rinks against Rowley
Lane. This time they fared a lot better succeeding on 3 of
the 4 rinks for an overall win of 68-42.Winning scores were
Brian Mayhew, John Tester and Eve Middleditch skipped by
Arthur Muir 16-14, Dickie Daniels, Barry Coles and Leslie
Martin skipped by Doris Edwards 17-7,
andTop Rink Adrian Pardini, Stella Slotnik and Bryan Mayson
skipped by Joan Tester 23-7.
On Saturday, Borehamwood Men played
East Barnet Valley in a Triples Match on 3 rinks and lost by
44-50. Their only winning rink was Harry Massey and John
Tester skipped by Dave Middleditch who won 18-14. On the
Ladies' Rink, Borehamwood had a two shot advantage on the
penultimate end, but dropped 3 shots on the last end to lose
18-19.
The following day, a weakened
Borehamwood Men's Team visited King's Langley for a Watford
& District League Match and suffered one of their heaviest
defeats ever going down by 33 shots to 95. Some of their
blushes were spared on the friendly Ladies Rink, however
when Leslie Martin, Doris Edwards and Eve Middleditch
skipped by Jean Snook triumphant by 22 shots to 15.
