Borehamwood's week got off to an excellent start when they played at Barnet on two rinks in the Herts. County League winning by 40 shots to 32, with Dave Mooring, Dave Middleditch and Colin Williams skipped by Arthur Moseley 15-13, and Alan Rose, Don Putman and Tom Barker skipped by Club Captain Roy Edwards, 25-19.In the Ladies' County Fours, Borehamwood's Carol Higgon, Ivy Eales and Jean Snook skipped by Doris Edwards, having being level after 8 ends, they won 8 of the last 10 ends to record a worthy 26-15 victory.In a not so friendly mixed friendly on 5 triples rinks at Welwyn & District, a very strong home team thrashed Borehamwood by 113 shots to 66. Wood's one victorious rink was John Tester and Peggy Pollintine skipped by Betty Massey, 18-11.Having won the Friday Night League 3 times out of the last 5 years, Borehamwood's men illustrated why this is their favourite competition by annihilating their opponents by 25 shots, with the home team of Dave Mooring, Ken Sharp and Colin Williams skipped by Arthur Moseley winning 25-12, and the away team of John Roe, Don Putman and Tom Barker skipped by Roy Edwards victorious by 27-15.In spite of winning their Watford & District League Match away to Abbots Langley by 68 shots to 50, Borehamwood only had one successful rink with John Roe, Dave Mooring and Dave Middleditch skipped by Don Putman rounding off a superb display with an emphatic 39 shots to 10 victory. The Ladies' team of Pat Talbot, Carol Sharp and B. Mayhew skipped by Madge Barker won their friendly at the same venue by a resounding 30 shots to 12.
