In a mixed
triples friendly on 5 rinks away to Radlett last week,
Borehamwood took the honours with a 108 shots to 90
victory.Their three winning rinks were Peggy Pollintine
and Barry Coles skipped by Brian Mayhew who took three
shots on the last two ends to overtake their opponents
and win 19-17, John Roe and Betty Massey skipped by
Arthur Muir with a comfortable 28-12 victory, and Adrian
Pardini and Lesley Martin skipped by Harry Massey who
triumphed by a whopping 34-9.
Borehamwood's Margaret Moseley reached yet another final
in her trophy-littered career, this time against Eileen
Clements of Potten End Bowls Club in the Watford &
District Ladies Singles Championship. Held this year at
the Radlett Bowls Club last Friday and, watched by a
large crowd who
witnessed
a high-quality see-saw match, Margaret sadly but finally
succumbed by 19 shots to 21.
Over the weekend, Chrissie Martin and Dave Middleditch beat off all opposition to win the Mullings Cup, and Doris Edwards and Arthur Muir won the Annual Mixed Pairs Trophy. |
